Specimen above found on a winkle shell occupied by the hermit crab, Pagurus bernhardus. Specimen found on an extra low tide at Helford, Cornwall. 29.10.15. The hermit crab was removed from the shell so the anemone could be best displayed.

Specimen above unusually found under a rock on an extra low spring tide, on a spit north of Smeaton's Pier, St. Ives, Cornwall. 18.02.15.

This species is usually found sublittorally, in deep water; attached to the shells of large hermit crabs.
