Tens of thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands, were found swimming in shallow water near the shore above sand on the east side of Lariggan Rocks, Wherrytown, Penzance, Cornwall. 19.07.16.

The mysids were seen one hour after low tide, on an incoming tide at 2pm in the afternoon. They consisted mainly of juveniles, but a few adult females were present in the sample taken.

The main objective of this website is in furthering environmental awareness and education through the medium of photography. To increase awareness and access to the wildlife of the region and help
people find and identify it. Sometimes the difference between species is obvious but many species can only be determined by observing microscopic characteristics that are specific to any one species.
