Species abundant among brown algae in river below the bridge at Terras Bridge near Looe, Cornwall, 03.04.22.

Numerous specimens found under debris in tidal pools at The Pill, Northam Burrows Country Park, Westward Ho!, Devon, 08.04.17. The pools in question are probably only flooded on high spring tides. The amphipod Corophium volutator and a female pregnant Three-spined stickleback were also found in the same pool.

In mature male specimens antenna 2 is covered in many long fine curled setae.

Brackish-water species, locally common; found in marshy areas, drainage ditches, also on mud, sand and stones within estuaries. Ref: R. J. Lincoln, BRITISH MARINE AMPHIPODA: GAMMARIDEA.
