Specimen featured was found by Joyce Linfield at Bolsa Chica Marsh, Seal Beach, California, USA, in August 2001. This species was introduced to California, is native to the Atlantic coast of North America.

Specimen above was purchased as a reference specimen as the species is potentially a rafting species and may arrive in the UK on flotsam from the Atlantic coast of North America.
