Specimen above found washed-up on the low tide mark after a storm, at Sennen Cove, West Cornwall. 26.11.15.
Species first discovered by Prideaux in large numbers in Plymouth Sound and identified as a new species by Dr. Leach in 1815, hence the common name. The Cloak anemone, Adamsia carciniopados, can sometimes be found living as a commensal on the shell of this Hermit crab.
