This small, pale, whitish algae is red algal species that is parasitic on Vertebrata lanosa syn. Polysiphonia lanosa, Many Tubed Gable Weed, the latter, commonly found as an epiphyte on Ascophyllum nodosum, Knotted or Egg Wrack.

Species found on the algae mentioned above at the rear of Penzance Harbour (near the dry dock), Penzance, Cornwall. 08.01.15.
