Horse Chestnut
Aesculus hippocastanum
- conker 1
The Horse Chestnut / conker, is not a true Sea Bean or seed, it's fruits often fall into streams and rivers and may enter the sea and wash-up on beaches, especially on the strandline, the high tide mark.
The seed here was found on the high tide mark at Gwithian, Cornwall. 12.02.16.
The main objective of this website is in furthering environmental awareness and education through the medium of photography. To increase awareness and access to the wildlife of the region and help
people find and identify it. Sometimes the difference between species is obvious but many species can only be determined by observing microscopic characteristics that are specific to any one species.
