This is a brackish or freshwater species and can be found in coastal lagoons and some rivers, the species is widespread around the UK but more common on the south and south-east coast of England. The specimen here was found at Greenwich.The shell is part of an old Victorian collection in a cabinet, stuck to a card, so is a bit dirty. Shell is part of the Turk Collection, a collection of molluscs and curios put together by the late Stella Turk MBE and currently curated by the author of this website. 03.05.20.
