The incomplete specimen above was found in a rock crevice above shell sand at Wherry Rocks, Penzance, Cornwall, 22.08.17.

It is important with Maldanid worms to have both the anterior and posterior ends to identify the species. Here only the anterior of the worm was found, hence the question mark until the species is verified by an expert, if possible.

The main objective of this website is in furthering environmental awareness and education through the medium of photography. To increase awareness and access to the wildlife of the region and help
people find and identify it. Sometimes the difference between species is obvious but many species can only be determined by observing microscopic characteristics that are specific to any one species.
