Juvenile specimens above were found in a subtidal collection of Coral Weed collected at Albert Pier reef, Penzance, Cornwall. 07.06.16. These specimens will be DNA sequenced in Sweden by Dr. Arne Nygren.
Species discovered as a result of DNA sequencing conducted by Arne Nygren during a scientific project to determine the number of cryptic species involved in the Eumida cf. sanguinea complex. According to Arne Nygren the species is near Eumida ockelmanni.
The specimen found has quite wide gold bands, much wider than bands seen in Eumida maia, for example. Please photograph similar specimen/s and report ones like this to me, more specimens are needed so the species can be best described. e-mail
