Specimen found on rope with a build-up of sea squirt Ciona intestinalis at Mylor Marina. Mylor Churchtown, River Fal. 12.10.15. The Ciona intestinalis covered rope was washed in a bucket of water to remove fauna and liqueur strained and washed through a small plastic sieve.
Species has been found with many species of sea squirts, hydroids etc. that may be associated with fouling complexes seen on structures in ports and harbours e.g. on marinas. The species has a limited distribution but this is likely because the species has recently been described. First recorded in north Norfolk in the UK.
Species kindly identified by Dr. Arne Nygren on the basis of the long cirrophoresi.
