Small colony, 60cm across, under Saw wrack, on north facing side of shallow lowershore gulley.

Intertidal colonies of juvenile Sabellaria alveolata can appear identical to the image of the colony shown here. The species are differentiated by the shape of the palaea.

people find and identify it. Sometimes the difference between species is obvious but many species can only be determined by observing microscopic characteristics that are specific to any one species.
