Specimens found on Codium in a large middleshore pool at Battery Rocks, Penzance, Cornwall. 30.04.16.

This is a tentative identification, but on speaking to others it seems quite logical that this is the species concerned. The species appears as Ectocarpus simplex in Lily Newton's 1931 book, "A Handbook of the British Seaweeds", which is where I first found reference to it before looking for the species on Codium.
