Sea squirt
Perophora listeri
- with Aglaophenia pluma 1

Specimen above was found under a boulder in association with the sea mats Bugulina turbinata, Crisularia plumosa and Cradoscrupocellaria reptans; and the hydroid Aglaophenia pluma. It was found on the lowershore at Trevaunance Cove, St. Agnes, Cornwall. 05.07.16.

The sea squirt wasn't identified in-situ, it was only discovered on looking at the fauna on a few selected stones under a stereomicroscope. Given its small size and transparency the species is possibly well overlooked.

Thanks to David Kipling for confirming species.

The main objective of this website is in furthering environmental awareness and education through the medium of photography. To increase awareness and access to the wildlife of the region and help
people find and identify it. Sometimes the difference between species is obvious but many species can only be determined by observing microscopic characteristics that are specific to any one species.
