Specimen above found in a sample of coralline turf and sediment sampled from the extreme lowershore, east of the causeway near St. Michael's Mount, Marazion, Cornwall. 19.04.15.

The worm was found in fully saline conditions, no freshwater sources were close to where the species was found. The closest source of freshwater is the stream that enters the sea between the RSPB reserve and Marazion village.

The species here was kindly identified by Ton van Haaren, who stated that the worm was a mature specimen, and that mature specimens were scarce.

The main objective of this website is in furthering environmental awareness and education through the medium of photography. To increase awareness and access to the wildlife of the region and help
people find and identify it. Sometimes the difference between species is obvious but many species can only be determined by observing microscopic characteristics that are specific to any one species.
