This sea slug eats spawn / eggs of other sea slugs. This small species can be seen in amongst spawn in the last three images, in the middle of the picture. Normally the species is pure or off-white colour, juvenile specimens found at Newlyn Harbour, Newlyn, 02.10.14, were brown / brownish.

Species also photographed in a lowershore rockpool at Spit Point, Par, Cornwall. 16.04.09; at Chimney Rocks, Penzance, Cornwall, 08.04.11 and various other locations.

The common name White aeolis is taken from a Victorian text, Shell Life by Edward Step.
