The specimen above was given by a local fisherman to Matt Thomas of the Veterinary practice, Cornish Paws, Penryn, for his marine tank in the reception area at the practice. The specimen which measured approximately 75mm was photographed by the author on 24.01.20.
This Tritonia is the largest nudibranch in the UK and can attain the length of 200mm. It is not an intertidal species, it feeds on a soft coral called 'Dead Man's Finger', Alcyonium digitatum.
