Numerous specimens found in mud at the western end of Carnsew Pool, Hayle, Cornwall. 24.05.17. The worm was found in fully saline conditions, no freshwater sources were close to where the species was found.

Unlike Tubificoides insularis, T. benedii has no hairs.
